東日本大震災から11日で8年です。アメリカ各地でも追悼式典が行われ、犠牲者に祈りが捧げられました。 ロサンゼルスでは、被災者が8年前に呼び掛け、追悼集会が毎年開催されています。

3月11日日曜日、ダウンタウンのロサンゼルス市警本部で東日本大震災の追悼集会、Love to Nipponが開催されました。Love to NipponはLA在住の鵜浦まさこさんが、日本での被災体験をきっかけに立ちあげた震災復興支援プロジェクトで、今年で７回目となりました。東北被災地の各県人会による観光PR、また日米の協力団体が災害における情報や防災グッズの紹介などを行ったほか、和太鼓、書道とダンス、ジャズのパフォーマンスなども行われました。
